Volleyball is a team sport usually played indoors.

A person must serve before the line.
6 players on a team, 3 on the front row and 3 on the back row
Maximum of three hits per side
Player may not hit the ball twice in succession (A block is not considered a hit)
Ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve
A ball is "out" if it hits...
an antennae,
the floor completely outside the court,
any of the net or cables outside the antennae,
the referee stand or pole,
the ceiling above a non-playable area
It is legal to contact the ball with any part of a players body
It is illegal to catch, hold, or throw the ball

Basketball
Basketball is a team sport played in an indoor gymnasium court. It is a winter sport, so it goes from term 2 to term 3.
Requirements

Basketballs, bibs and hoops should be provided.
Rules
You cannot hold the ball for more than 3 seconds.
Only five players per team on the court.
Score more than your opponent to win.
Score within the shot clock.
Dribbling advances the ball.
The offense has five seconds to inbound the ball.
The offense must advance the ball.
Ball and ballhandler must remain inbounds.

Badminton
Badminton is a fast-paced racket sport that can be played either as singles or doubles, with the aim of hitting a shuttlecock (or shuttle) over a net and into the opponent's court.

Rules
A match consists of the best of three games of 21 points.
The player/pair winning a rally adds a point to its score.
At 20-all, the player/pair which first gains a 2-point lead wins that game.
At 29-all, the side scoring the 30th point wins that game.
The player/pair winning a game serves first in the next game.
A badminton match can be played by two opposing players (singles) or four opposing players (doubles).

Cricket
Cricket is a game played with a bat and ball on a large field, known as a ground, between two teams of 11 players each.

Equipment (ie. bat, helmet etc) provided.
Rules
Hitting the ball and running between the wickets and making it to the other end before the fielders can hit the wickets with the ball.
In cricket, there are always two teams and. 22 players.
Ruling of the umpire is final.
Every six balls make an over.
Duration of the game is negotiated.
Batsman and bat both run for an over.

Football
Soccer is a game played by two teams with 11 players each on a field with a goal for each team. It's a fast-paced game with few breaks and one simple aim — to score a goal.

All teams must take the field with five players.
Mixed teams must take the field with a minimum of two outfield players.
Unlimited interchange will be allowed for all matches.
Kick offs will be taken from half way.
No slide tackles.

Hockey
A team game played between two teams of eleven players each, using hooked sticks with which the players try to drive a small hard ball towards goals at opposite ends of a field.

Rules
Hockey players can only hit the ball with the flat side of their stick.
Hockey players (other than the goalkeeper) are not allowed to use their feet, or any other parts of the body, to control the ball at any time.
A goal can only be scored either from a field goal, a penalty corner, or from a penalty stroke.
Hockey players may not trip, push, charge, interfere with, or physically handle an opponent in any way.

Netball
Netball is an exciting, fast and skilful game. It is a game in which two teams of seven players each strive to keep or gain possession of the ball.

Position bibs and netball balls should be provided.
Rules
A full netball squad has 7 playing positions on court (must be at least 5 players).
You cannot travel with the ball.
You cannot snatch or hit the ball out of a player's hands.
You must stand 3 feet away from the person with the ball (while defending).
You cannot hold the ball for more than 3 seconds.
Intimidation of any kind gets regulated the same as the Obstruction Rule.

Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball.
Requirements
Goggles. Most goggles are made of steel cages that protect the eyes, but some players choose plastic goggles that allow for better peripheral vision.

Rules
There are 10 players allowed on the field – 3 attack, 3 middies, 3 defenders and 1 goalie.
For each goal, the scoring team is awarded one point.
There can be a maximum of 4 long poles on the field per team.
A lacrosse ball may not be touched by a player's hand except by the goalie.
Play is stopped immediately when the ball goes out of bounds.
No opposing player can make contact with the goalie or the goalie’s stick when the goalie is in the goal crease area.

Rugby
Rugby is a full contact sport involving 15 players on each team,with 7 substitutes on the bench. The aim of the game is to score more points than the other side and points are scored through tries, conversions, penalty kicks and drop goals.

Balls will be provided.
Rules
Each rugby team will consist of 15 players and up to 7 substitutes. The team is split into two groups known as forwards and backs.
A try is awarded when a player places the ball down in their opponent’s dead ball area behind the goal. 5 points are awarded.
A conversion is a free kick that the team is awarded after a try to earn 2 bonus points. A successful kick needs to pass between the upper posts and top bar on the goal.
A penalty kick will gain a team 3 points and is awarded to a team when the opposing team causes an infringement.
A drop goal can be kicked out of the hand as long as the ball bounces first and can earn a team 3 points.
To win the game you must score more points than your opponent within 80 minutes.

Squash
Squash is a racket and ball sport played by two players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball.

Rules
Keep one foot in the service box while serving.
Hit the front wall first.
Hit the ball above the service line (the ball can't touch the line; it has to be completely above)
Land the ball in the opposite back quarter of the court (unless your opponent volleys the ball first)

Water polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each.

Rules
6 “Field” Players and 1 Goalie start the game.
Field players must pass, catch, and shoot with only 1 hand.
Taking the ball under water when guarded is a turnover.
The official playing field is at least 25 yards long, 20 yards wide, and 7 feet deep.
Players may not touch the bottom or hang on the wall.
AWater polo players in possession of the ball can pass the ball forwards, sideways or backwards.

Waka Ama
Waka ama, or outrigger canoes, is a part of the culture of all Pacific people, and as a sport it is practised throughout the world.

Rules
Can have up to 6 players on a canoe at a time. (depending on boat size)
Competitors must be present at the start line for their race.
Competitors complete the race once the bow of their outrigger canoe crosses the (official) finish line.

Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent or between two teams of two players each.

Rules
A ball must land within bounds for play to continue; if a player hits the ball outside of bounds, this results in the loss of the point for them.
Players/teams cannot touch the net or posts or cross onto the opponent’s side.
Players/teams cannot carry the ball or catch it with the racquet.
Players cannot hit the ball twice.
Players must wait until the ball passes the net before they can return it.
A player that does not return a live ball before it bounces twice loses the point.
If the ball hits or touches the players, that counts as a penalty.
If the racquet leaves the hand or verbal abuse occurs, a penalty is given.
Any ball that bounces on the lines of boundary are considered good.
A serve must bounce first before the receiving player can return it.
